Waganer Digital Video, founded by Richard Waganer, has been producing broadcast television and corporate videos for more than 20 years. Over the years Waganer has added many clients to its roster including industry giants such as CNN, Comcast, Discovery Communications, NBC, ABC, CBS, BBC and PBS Kids. Offering full production services in HD and SD, Waganer has created a wide variety of video content such as medical training videos on heart pacing wires for surgeons, a series with John Walsh helping law enforcement investigate missing children, and coverage of WWE wrestling. The production team has also applied its new media expertise to produce cutting-edge webinar training content for national corporations. To ensure that clients receive the high-quality, creative deliverables they expect, Waganer has made it a point to stay current with the latest technological developments. This strategy allows Waganer to take full advantage of features offered by leading-edge products like the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800 by PNY graphics board and to pass the resulting savings and convenience on to clients. Benefits include a streamlined workflow and the delivery of DVD quality client previews over the Web.
Waganer Digital Video relies on multiple workstations including a BOXX Extreme workstation, fully configured with a Quadro FX 4800 by PNY graphics board with Elemental Accelerator for NVIDIA Quadro. The NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800 by PNY equipped BOXX Extreme workstation is ideal for use with Adobe(r) CS4, Waganer's choice for editing and compositing. Offering 1.5GB RAM, 192 CUDA processing cores and OpenGL support, the Quadro FX 4800 combined with Elemental Accelerator for NVIDIA Quadro can encode H.264 video dramatically faster than the standard media encoder. In addition the CUDA(tm)-enabled plug-in for Adobe(r) Premiere(r) Pro CS4 accelerates rendering time for advanced effects such as transformations, color correction, depth of field blur, turbulent noise and more.
Gone are the costly and time-consuming days of couriering video previews to clients. Today, Waganer Digital Video is able to stream video previews to clients over the Web via the studio's media server, which results in savings for the client and greater work-flow efficiency for the studio. According to Richard Waganer, "in the past, getting high quality, H.264 encodes at close to DVD quality took a very long time and tied up our edit systems, just to encode previews. Now we can get the previews up on the Web, often faster than in real-time." Recently Waganer put the Quadro FX through its paces on a "Re-Version Edits" project for the Discovery Health Channel. Waganer was responsible for editing a 13 part TV series produced in Canada to conform to the standards that The Discovery Network requires for its American audience.

"The editing was relatively easy,' said Waganer, "however, to encode H.264 previews at full quality took much longer than the editing. With the new Quadro FX and Elemental Accelerator we saved DAYS of edit suite time just rendering previews."
In recent years Waganer Digital Video has expanded its services to include the production and hosting of Web-based video content for corporate clients and other organizations. The introduction of Content Delivery Networks (CDN's) which are designed to optimize content delivery such as live video streaming and high definition video has allowed Waganer to serve up the professional looking video its clients demand. Waganer shoots in high definition and encodes the video, using the Quadro FX graphics board, into a high quality web stream and securely serves the video from a high bandwidth delivery network. "With our new partnerships to CDN's and Adobe Flash, we are creating online video networks, including CongressionalTV.com, and delivering every client review at a quality not seen before for web preview," explained Waganer.
"It's a great help to encode so fast. The Quadro FX by PNY card saves me time... lots of time," concluded Richard Waganer. "We look forward to using the new CUDA features in After Effects. We typically Color Correct all our footage, and do lots of compositing... so the new features of the CUDA driver sound exciting."
